The idea for Design Center of Rehoboth was born of the realized need for more sophisticated and innovative design considerations in Southern Delaware. Through DCOR, Ed Albers and Michael Cusumano showcase a total home environment. Not a traditional furniture store, DCOR is a comprehensive tool for homeowners, contractors, architects and craftsmen seeking a model highlighting our vision of the thoughtfully-designed space.

Our inspiration for a project is directed by open dialogue with our clients, the specific architecture of a project and its surroundings. We guide clients through their design choices with respect to budget without compromising the integrity and quality we deliver in the finished design.

From apprentice draftsman in an Annapolis, Maryland landscape firm and Merchandise Mart Properties intern at The Washington Design Center, Ed Albers' creative acumen launched a design career that continues to innovate over ten years after the inception of DCOR.

Ed's meticulous 1999 renovation of his Silver Lake home in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware immediately caught the town's notice, garnering the coveted Rehoboth Beach Town Cottage Award and spurring Ed to channel his creative energy into a career that was solely design-focused.

In the summer of 2002, he opened Albers Design Group and collaborated with clients, architects and other designers on residential and commercial design projects.

An Allied Member of the American Society of Interior Designers, Ed has served as a board member for  its Maryland chapter.

Ed is recognized as a dynamic innovator of classic contemporary design styles that combine luxury with practicality. He is noted for his crisp attention to detail, his development of well-proportioned spaces and his expert use of color.

Complementing his partner's design focus, Michael Cusumano brings over two decades of niche marketing and event planning expertise through his partnership in Manorborn, an innovative Valley Forge, Pennyslvania design work and event planning studio serving Philadelphia and its environs.

Michael's ability to identify and balance client needs and wishes helps enable DCOR to develop its uniquely customized approach to individual projects. With a focus on flawless logistics, Michael maintains a highly productive client-to-contractor interface at each step of the design job.
